Lawtech prides itself on its comprehensive and industry-leading design expertise, delivered through its in-house Design & Quality Department, specialising in cladding-related, fire safety, and energy efficiency works.
Our Head of Design & Quality brings over 30 years of industry experience and holds an MSc in Façade Engineering. Our Design Department comprises a highly skilled team of Design Managers, Designers, and CAD Technicians, ensures that every project benefits from robust, bespoke, and innovative design solutions tailored to the specific needs and challenges presented by each building.
Lawtech’s team continuously updates their skills and knowledge through training courses, industry seminars, and networking. We have internal representation on the MHCLG market expert panel, which guarantees that our design expertise is always informed by the latest regulations, best practice, and technological advances.
Collaboration
Our design process is methodical and collaborative. Early engagement with key stakeholders including clients, appointed consultants, building control officers, and residents is integral to our approach. Design Workshops and regular Progress Meetings form a critical part of this collaborative framework, facilitating the agreement on specifications pre-commencement and allowing ongoing dialogue and refinement throughout the project lifecycle.
We work closely with all dutyholders to enhance our own competence, and engage specialists such as Fire Engineers, Structural Engineers, etc. as required to ensure our own knowledge is augmented. Where we do not have the in-house capability, we will engage an external party that does have this. Knowing when to seek expert input is imperative.

Investigations
At Lawtech, investigations form a foundational component of our design and construction approach, ensuring that all remedial works, especially in cladding and facade projects, are informed by comprehensive, accurate data about the existing buildings. Our dedicated Investigations Team conducts over 100 intrusive surveys annually, reflecting the high level of scrutiny and due diligence we apply prior to design and construction phases.
Data gathered during investigations are meticulously documented, influencing our bespoke design process, enabling tailored solutions that address the complex challenges presented by each building’s unique construction, thereby minimising scope changes during build and reducing risk of unforeseen issues that can affect timelines and budgets.

We utilise advanced Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, including AutoCAD 3D, enabling precise and detailed drawings that accommodate building-specific nuances such as thermal performance, fire safety, weather protection, and aesthetic requirements. Designs are subjected to rigorous internal review processes, with multiple tiers of technical and strategic oversight by our Senior Design Managers and the Head of D&Q to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory standards, including Building Regulations and fire safety requirements.
